At 34, she brings a rare combination of academic depth and industry credibility — a PhD in Computer Science from the Technical University of Munich (with a dissertation on API design patterns for geospatial systems) and six years of frontline developer relations experience at Stripe and Twilio. Before moving into developer advocacy, she spent four years as a backend developer, giving her the hands-on coding fluency that developers immediately recognize and respect. At Stripe, Lena built integration guides that became the gold standard for fintech API documentation. At Twilio, she led the European developer advocacy program, speaking at over 40 conferences and building a reputation as someone who could explain complex systems with clarity and wit. She codes fluently in JavaScript, Python, PHP, Ruby, Go, and Java, switching between stacks as easily as switching between the German, Polish, and English she speaks natively.
