Jack Thornton grew up in Queenstown, New Zealand—backdropped by the Southern Alps and surrounded by some of the world's most stunning trout water. His father was a professional guide on the Mataura, and Jack was rowing drift boats by age fifteen. He studied Commerce at University of Otago while guiding in the summers, then spent five years in sales and marketing for a New Zealand outdoor brand. He understands the Oceania market uniquely: the sight-fishing culture of New Zealand, the Murray cod and barra opportunities in Australia, and the passionate community of anglers across both countries. He joined Di-Atomic because REFFE FISH LINE offered something the region needed—premium quality at prices that made sense for shops outside the major US and European markets. His role is to connect qualified Australasian fly fishing retailers with the REFFE FISH LINE team.
